Nature, Spirit, Myth

With her sensual paintings and mixed-media sculpture, Oakland-based artist Tiffany Bozic aims to remind us that beyond the traffic and sprawl of our fair city, the wide world teems with natural wonders.

Tiptoeing the line between the fabled and the real, Bozic’s work conjures images of archetypal organic forms fusing man, animal and fantasy. “I have always been drawn towards finding some kind of common thread or language that binds us to and separates us from nature and each other,” says the Russellville, Ark. native.

Bozic found her latest muse on a recent expedition to Papua New Guinea, where she was captivated by the power of a largely untouched environment. She brings her discoveries to LA’s BLK/MRKT Gallery (6009 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA; 310.837.1989) through 10.21, and online at tiffanybozic.net.
