December 2006 | Web ExclusivesGandhi Hits Hollwoodby Dawna ShumanThe war in Iraq marches on but Hollywood stopped for peace last Oct. 28 when Arun Gandhi, Mahatama Gandhi’s 70-year-old grandson, led the inaugural Parade for World Peace down Hollywood Boulevard. Gandhi addressed the crowd of nearly 3,000, quoting from his grandfather’s lessons of peaceful activism, before immortalizing his historic first step on the famous street by placing his foot in a plaster panel in Walk of Fame tradition. Gandhi hopes it will be the first step in a “global peace parade.”
